Privacy Policy for Smart Glasses Manager Android Application
At TeamOpenSmartGlasses, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy document contains information about the types of information that is collected and recorded by the Smart Glasses Manager.
If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us via team@teamopensmartglasses.com.
By using the Smart Glasses Manager android application, you hereby consent to our Smart Glasses Manager Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
Simple, Easy to Read Explanation
The Smart Glasses Manager does not record any data. The things that the Smart Glasses Manager does are:
- Connect to smart glasses with WiFi, Bluetooth, or USB
- Stream microphone data, either from your smart glasses or from your Android phone application
- Run automatic speech recognition on that audio stream
- Allows third party apps to register commands with the Smart Glasses Manager command system
- Streams transcripts to third party apps that register and subscribe
- Provides a smart glasses visual and voice command user interface
- Displays a text card or a test page with live captions to test your smart glasses
That is absolutely everything that the Smart Glasses Manager does. None of the audio or transcription data is saved, nor is it ever streamed off of the device.
The only way that data ever leaves the Smart Glasses Manager is when a third party app registers with the Smart Glasses Manager and subscribes to a sensor stream from your smart glasses. In that case, the third party app can manipulate, save, or send your data as they wish – we can’t control what they do with it. We highly recommend ensuring that any third party application you install is trustworthy and uses secure data practices.

We request the following permissions to run the Smart Glasses Manager application on your android phone:

- Bluetooth permission (rational: connect to Bluetooth smart glasses devices)
- Microphone permissions (rational: required in order to stream microphone data (this data is never saved or recorded))
